The SIUC forestry program provides a comprehensive foundation in forestry. You may choose to specialize in Forest Management, Outdoor Recreation Resources Management, Forest Hydrology or Urban Forest Management The Forest Managment and Outdoor Recreation Resources Management specializations are fully accredited by the Society of American Foresters (SAF).Our newest specializations, Forest Hydrology, and Urban Forest Managment meet SAF guidelines and will soon undergo the accreditation process.

The Department of Forestry offers Master of Science students the opportunity to tailor their program to address their interests and career aspirations. Individual programs of study and research are developed by students in consultations with their faculty advisor to ensure timeliness and feasibility. Concentrations include forest resource management, outdoor recreation resource management, and wood science and technology.
