Profile:
The clamshell bucket is made of mild steel with cutting edges and is used for digging ditches, cleaning stream courses, cleaning out culverts and ditches, cleaning out skid crossings, placing rip rap, and loading rock from a borrow pit. A three foot wide bucket made for a 60" grapple holds approximately two-thirds of a cubic yard and weighs 850 pounds. Mill yards are using the bucket to clean out sediment ponds and drainage ditches.
