Where does reclaimed wood come from?

Reclaimed wood can come for a variety of sources including old barns, stables, warehouses and turn of the century wooden buildings that have been abandoned or ready for demolition.

Why is reclaimed wood more expensive than new wood?

In one word processing - once salvaged the wood must be processed. This involves de-nailing, kiln drying to remove insects and milling into the new products. Because much of the reclaimed material is becoming harder to find and there is a greater demand for this old growth wood; costs are raising.

Why should we purchase reclaimed wood?

In addition to the benefits of added strength and stability, the rich texture of aged reclaimed wood and its environmentally friendliness make it an excellent choice for new and remodeling projects.
