Department of Forestry offers programs of instruction in forest resource management, urban and community forestry, wood products manufacturing and marketing, forest conservation and environmental studies, and forest sciences.
People who love to work in the woods and are interested in the sustainable management of forests study forestry at Michigan Tech. The curriculum at MTS of Forest Resources and Environmental Science is well integrated and modern with a strong emphasis on field skills and team work.
The undergraduate major in forestry is a science-based program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. The forestry major options in Environmental Conservation, Forest Management, Urban Forestry, and Wildlife Management leading to the B.S. degree in Forestry are accredited by the Society of American Foresters (SAF).
