  1. Can the Husqvarna 395XP chainsaw handle extreme weather conditions, such as intense cold or heat?
Yes, the Husqvarna 395XP is designed to operate efficiently across a wide range of weather conditions. Its Air Injection™ technology helps to keep the engine clean and running smoothly, even in dusty or cold environments. However, for extreme cold, it’s advisable to use winter-grade oil to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Is the Husqvarna 395XP suitable for chainsaw milling, or is it strictly for felling and bucking?
The Husqvarna 395XP, with its powerful 94cc engine and the ability to accommodate up to a 28-inch bar, is indeed capable of chainsaw milling. Its high power output and torque make it a good choice for milling large logs, although it’s primarily designed for professional logging and forestry work.
  3. How does the inertia-activated chain brake enhance safety during operation?
The inertia-activated chain brake is a critical safety feature that stops the chain almost instantly in case of a kickback, significantly reducing the risk of injury. It’s activated either manually by the operator’s hand or automatically by the force of the kickback, providing an additional layer of safety during use.
  4. Can I use bio-degradable chain oil with the 395XP, and if so, does it affect the adjustable oil pump setting?
Yes, you can use bio-degradable chain oil with the Husqvarna 395XP. The adjustable oil pump allows you to customize the oil flow to match the type of oil used and the cutting conditions, ensuring optimal lubrication and protection for the bar and chain.
  5. What maintenance routines are recommended to keep the 395XP in top condition?
Regular maintenance routines for the 395XP include cleaning the air filter, checking and cleaning the spark plug, ensuring the chain is sharp and properly tensioned, and inspecting the bar for wear. Additionally, checking the oil pump and the fuel filter periodically will help maintain the chainsaw’s performance and longevity.
  6. How does the weight of the Husqvarna 395XP compare to its performance, and does it impact user fatigue?
Weighing in at approximately 17.4 lbs (excluding cutting equipment), the 395XP is on the heavier side due to its powerful engine and robust construction. However, its design incorporates LowVib® technology to reduce vibration levels, mitigating fatigue and making it easier to handle during extended use.

Sounds like an excellent saw for the professional. It would be worthwhile to see actual numerical specifications on vibration levels at the handle. Jonsered publishes them and the difference between the standard and professional saw of exactly the same displacement is surprising. This is not a "comfort" or fatigue issue. In cold countries, as my Canada the blood vessels and netves in the hands can easily be permanently damaged, aspecially in freezing 🥶 Given the light magnesium case, that extra weight is surely dampening the vibrations. Professional lumberjacks are not small delicate people, blood vessels and nerves... 🤔 Cheers 🍻
