A Guide to Burning for PelPro Cast Iron Pellet Stove

  1. Pellet Selection: Opt for high-quality pellets to ensure efficient and clean burning. Inferior quality pellets can lead to increased ash production and potentially affect the stove’s performance. Look for pellets made from hardwoods, as they tend to burn cleaner and produce less residue.
  2. Hopper Loading: Fill the hopper with the appropriate amount of pellets, taking care not to overfill. The hopper’s capacity should be respected to prevent pellet spillage and ensure efficient feeding into the combustion chamber.
  3. Fire Start-up: To start the fire, ensure the burn pot is clean. Then, ignite the pellets using the stove’s ignition system. Once the fire is established, adjust the settings to achieve the desired temperature. Keep the burn pot clean to maintain proper combustion.
  4. Ash Removal: Regularly clean out the ash pan to prevent excessive ash buildup, which can impede airflow and affect the stove’s performance. Empty the ash pan after each use or as necessary, ensuring it’s cool before disposal.
  5. Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to ensure the stove is functioning optimally. This includes checking the gaskets, venting system, and other components for wear and tear. Schedule professional maintenance annually to keep the stove in top condition.

Following these burning guidelines for your PelPro Cast Iron Pellet Stove will not only ensure efficient and clean burning but also contribute to the longevity and optimal performance of your heating appliance.

We have had this pellet stove for a very long time however we have replaced the circuit board at least 5 times within this time due to power surges. We have one of the best power surge protectors that have been sent in each and everytime with no damage to the surge protector. This circuit board is very costly making this stove a bit expensive overall.
