I own a Ryobi 48V Brushless 38 in. 100 Ah Battery electric rear engine riding lawn mower. I bought it three years ago from Home Depot. It was approx. $3000. at that time. They are now listed for approx. $5200. The warranty is for three years, BUT the batteries are only warranted for 1 year. My yard is a little less than 3/4 of an acre. I was able to mow all of it on one charge. The machine was cleaned after every mowing and stored in the garage. At the three year mark my mower began having problems. I took it to a authorized Ryobi service place and after paying the $150. diagnostic fee, they said the batteries were the problem and replacement would cost approx. $1600. including labor. I am not a happy camper! My yard is clean with no roots, stumps, etc. It's large, but an easy mow situation. I think having to pay over half the original cost of the machine every two or three years to keep it running is outrageous! And that cannot be eco friendly to have all those batteries dumped every two or three years.
