Power, Simplicity, and Lightweight
MS462CM-R from Ron’s Rent-It-Center in KENAI, AK. Two weeks now, first week was break-in, just small, short runs, heat and RPM cycling it. Second week, 20 trees in, (evenings after my day) job just dropped another. I’ve grown up running commercial saws,(fathers family owned and operated a commercial logging operation/sawmill from the 40’s to 2010), this saw is an awesome power to weight ratio saw! If you’re wanting a >14lb saw, and having 5.9-6hp?,..You WILL NOT find a better saw!!

Capable and serious saw
I own a heavily forested parcel of 25 acres - 100's of trees, some dead some areas just needing to be thinned. Bought the MS 462 and am 100% pleased with the performance and reliability. Awesome saw with more than enough power for the job. This is a serious saw with serious power not to be taken lightly. It's also fairly substantial but not too much to handle for me - I'm a bigger guy and maintain pretty good fitness - 6'3, 210 lbs. I get a pretty darn good workout using this saw for a few hours!

IT'S A ROCKSTAR / MONEY WELL SPENT
I have been cutting wood for 40+ years and have used many Homeowner and Farm & Ranch saws by Stihl that provided years of faithful service. Often, I found myself with too many cuts, not enough time and lite on power. I was looking to move up to a bigger saw that has amazing pulling power, instant throttle response and a balanced weight/power ratio that makes easy work for tree felling, chunking and cleanup. I am totally amazed with my MS 462 R C-M saw. The only down side of the saw is that it is crazy loud. You must have great ear protection. Listening to Lawrence Welk “Oh Happy Day” verses ACDC “Thunderstruck”— cranked up would be the best comparison parable of my experience with this great saw. I love it.

Fabulous Saw for large bars
I purchased the saw with both a 25", and a 36" bar to cut trees in East Texas. It starts very easy, so I rarely use the compression release option. It is a beast with the 25" bar. Lots of power and speed cutting through oaks, and pines. Recently I have been using it in the aftermath of Hurricane in Louisiana. The integrated bar nuts are a huge plus, you never lose them. The only negative point is when it runs completely out of fuel, it takes several pulls to reprime. Just fill it up before it runs out, and you will have no issues.

Power.. Chain speed.. Light weight.. Runs in cold or hot.. Any elevation, no adjustment.. Amazing saw..good job Stihl..
