Stihl MS 661 R C-M MAGNUM
Overview
For increased mobility while cutting down large trees, rely on the powerful MS 661 R C-M. Its wrap-around handle offers additional operator comfort while working. Similar to the MS 661 C-M, this chainsaw boasts STIHL M-Tronic™ engine management technology, providing less vibration and 20% more fuel efficiency than its predecessor, the MS 660. The saw also features a long-lasting filter system with HD-2 filter elements, resulting in longer intervals between maintenance, an ElastoStart™ handle, and an adjustable oiler with high output. Note that the wrap-handle version may not be available in all areas.

Good saw that doesn’t bog down much in the cut.
I heard horror stories of this saw before purchasing one. I purchased it anyhow knowing Stihl stands behind their products. I have been impressed every single time I use this beast. It is a huge time saver to me which equates to more money in my pocket. I would Highly recommend this saw to other professionals. The rate at which I can cut trees with this stock powered saw is almost unbelievable. I made the mistake of letting a friend use my saw and he did not want to give it back. I will be buying more Stihl products in the future.

Runs great,outstanding power, easy to start
I was a little nervous about electronic engine control after reading some negative reviews, but I have had zero problems with this saw a couple of weeks in. Power is excellent - it feels like a lot more than my trusty 460, but I don't have numbers to back that up. The new start system works great and you don't have to guess about which start cycle to use. My last 90cc saw was an 056 Magnum II, and starting that was a complete Jane Fonda workout. Probably didn't help that the crank seals were shot. The 661 does go through a lot of gas on full throttle, but I have never seen a saw pile up sawdust like the 661 - you're ankle-deep before you know it.

Power and durability
This saw has the power to pull large chains in hardwood. I found the 661 to be the right combination of power and weight for falling and sectioning large oak. Lots of chain speed for a big saw. Best saw I have had the opportunity to handle. Love it.

only good for one tank of gas every day
The saw runs great for the first tank of gas, then it will not start for twenty or thirty minutes. I went online to read about this problem it seems to be happening to alot of the 661's I read I may be due to pressure build up in the tank, Also, once it pops on choke, do not choke it again to start, my ms 390 starts much more reliabliy. If 661 floods it does take overnight to start again. The reason I gave it a 5/5 is that Stihl has provided great service everytime I had an issue I am sure it will work out fine.
