To minimize the risk of injury in certain kickback situations, STIHL chainsaws come equipped with a chain stopping system known as the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake. This system stops the rotation of the chain if triggered by the operator's hand or by inertia if the saw kicks back with enough force. In some working positions, the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake can be activated by inertia, stopping the chain within a fraction of a second.

The Quick Chain Adjuster (QCA) (B) feature allows the user to adjust the chain's tension without requiring any tools, making chain adjustment an easy task.

The handle is designed with a soft rubber texture that provides a comfortable and firm grip, making it easy to hold the product for extended periods of time.

The Ematic™ guide bar, when paired with STIHL OILOMATIC® saw chain, ensures adequate lubrication while consuming less oil than traditional methods. This system functions through two strategically placed ramps on the guide bar rail, which help direct lubrication to the sliding surfaces of the bar and chain links, as well as the rivets and driver holes. This efficient system can help reduce bar oil consumption by up to 50%.

At my age it’s a blessing

I cut down diseased beech 18”-24”dbh with my 261 I limb right down to 8”with the MSA 200 battery saw Far less tiring for me …I’m 78

Nice saw. Battery last way longer than expected. Saw is balanced nicely. Super light. Not what I was expecting. I would consider this a commercial saw.

Bought it for my husband because he couldn’t use his other chainsaws due to neck surgery. This he can use with no affect on his neck

First Electric Tool

This wonderful saw is everything as described by STIHL. After using it for a short while, I just might sell my gas operated chainsaw. It does everything and more than the latter saw.

Strong, light and durable.

I use this saw for hiking trail mainanance and clearing and have regularly tackled logs of over two feet in diameter but usually only about a foot or less and it performs very well. It's light enough to carry long distances in a pack along with the usual hiking and sawing supplies. The newer batteries (I use the AP300 and the AP300S) have enough juice to get major work done. I bought the first Slihl battery saw over ten years ago and this replacement is much more powerful and faster.
