STIHL chainsaws are equipped with a chain-stopping system called STIHL Quickstop® chain brake, which is designed to reduce the risk of injury in certain kickback situations. It stops the rotation of the chain when activated by the operator's hand or by inertia if the saw kicks back with sufficient force. In some working positions, the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake can be activated by inertia, stopping the chain within fractions of a second.

This feature refers to the throttle trigger on STIHL chainsaws, which is designed to be wider than traditional triggers, making it more comfortable and easier to use.

STIHL offers an additional manually-activated chain brake on some chainsaw models called STIHL Quickstop® Plus. This system engages when the operator's right hand completely releases the rear handle, stopping the chain within one second. This feature is available on select models.

Excellent product with one exception

I purchased the MSE 141 because of Stihl’s reputation. I am not disappointed. It is a first-class small, corded chainsaw for light work such as chopping up firewood and pruning smaller trees. My only negative comment is the fact that the power cord is 30 cm in length. I don't think I've ever bought a product with such a short cord. This means that when using the chainsaw there would be a chunky, clunky plug / extension socket combination banging around near the operator, which is not a good thing. I cut off the supplied plug and fitted a cable mount male to female inline 10amp connector which largely overcame the problem.

Super saw

Ok we all want it simple! I can get on my atv see limbs down and viola no muss no fuss and plenty of power. Great for limbing and trail work. No gas no mix nirvana I like this saw, lots!
