Stihl MSE 250

Stihl MSE 250

Overview

The MSE 250 is a chainsaw designed for professional use, providing quiet, lightweight and durable cutting power. Its soft grip handle, coasting brake, and temperature LED indicator make it easy for professionals to use and achieve precise, comfortable cutting, without any exhaust emissions. Since it does not have a gasoline engine, it also means no fuel costs or seasonal engine maintenance. This saw is ideal for trimming and firewood cutting jobs, and it only requires access to a 20-amp power source nearby for operation.

Great saw for use in our manufacturing facility.

I use this saw as a trim saw in a sawmill and lumber manufacturing facility. I also have used it as a precision saw for saddlenotching log homes. We have abused it spectacularly and while in our mill and admittedly, we have gone through 2 of them over the last 12 years and are on our third, This saw makes our job much easier. I cut white pine timbers, cabin logs and stacked lumber that needs endtrimming after manufacturing. I've been quite happy with it. I have only tripped the temperature breaker once over all this time.

doe the job well, Stihl quality

Needed something to clean up small stuff and near a plug. Does the job. Still leave the big jobs to the gas powered ones.

A capable power tool

This saw has exceeded my expectations, it is well built, quick cutting and quiet. Though a beaver is a bit quieter.

Pricey- but worth the money

I cut A LOT of wood. I'm constantly bucking logs, prepping them for splitting. I don't want to drive my neighbors nuts in the evening cutting with loud gas Stihl chainsaws. So, I purchased this unit. It cuts well, isn't too noisy and is easy to handle. I've only used it for an hour or so, so cant comment on quality. I don't miss the noise, or the stench of smelling like combusted two cycle fuel.

I am a full time woodturner. I use a chain saw virtually 360 days a year. My shop is at my home in town and the neighbors have called the police on me when I used my gas engine Stihl ms290 too much. It has the power to handle a 18" log if necessary. Not quite up to my gas saws on bigger logs ... but it can easily handle them without the police showing up. I've had this saw for about 18 months and did have one problem that put the saw down for a few days. Stihl bent over backwards and did somersaults to get me back in business because they realized my need for daily use. I have never written a review for a product before, but felt that I should share my great experience with this saw. I use Stihl gas saws for my heavier work away from the house, but if necessary the ms250e would do most of that as well. I hate commercials on television because most of them are exaggerated bs. But, when the Stihl commercials come on it makes me feel like I'm part of something because I am proud of the saws that I own. Also, kudos to my dealer.
